Officials with the FBI, Justice Department and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) outlined insider trading charges against Rep. Chris Collins (R-NY). The congressman was accused of tipping off his family and friends in June 2017 to insider knowledge of a drug company's failed clinical trials for a drug to treat multiple sclerosis. Rep. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo today testified before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on President Trump's recent summits with the leaders of Russia and North Korea. Senate Foreign Relations Committee Ranking Member Bob Menendez (D-NJ) asked Mr. Pompeo several questions about the president's private meeting with Russian President Putin in Helsinki, Finland. The secretary of state said he disagreed with the line-of-questioning, arguing the predicate of the question implied something "improper" about the one-on-one meeting. During the White House briefing, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders was asked about Omarosa Manigault Newman's allegation that the president used the "n-word." Ms. Sanders said that the president addressed the accusation directly on Twitter, adding she has never heard him say that word or anything similar. When asked if she can guarantee that the American people would never hear the president say that word on any recording, Ms. Sanders said: "I can't guarantee anything, but I can tell you the president addressed this question directly."
